Never having reviewed a radio station before and being approached by Ian I just couldn’t ignore the challenge and especially not for Dapperfm.
From the deep rolling valleys of Penywaun in Wales come the roaring sounds of Dapperfm….
If you think of Wales you usually think of choirs, male tenor voices and long winded and insanely difficult to say and pronounce railway stations such as Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch, Well think again!
This mad cap duo, affectionately known as Fenwick and Phyllis bring you the best in unsigned, rock, metal and punk, with shout outs galore!
Every Thursday (unless notified) between the dark hours of 10.00pm and Midnight, be prepared to be brutalised with the Dapperfm goings on!
The screeching of Ian’s lively voice can easy be heard in Australia!!! He is totally wild and untamed. Quite a shock when you have headphones on and the volume up to 11!
On all levels Ian and his side kick Richard Fenwick keep you hooked with their lively banter in between the thunderous decibels brought to you by unsigned bands from near and far.
You will be completely drowned in sound! The 2 hours of metal brutality gives you the fur coat without the knickers! It is all here! It gives you a real kneejerk from within the welsh valleys and who would have thought it, that, Wales could produce something as brutal as this? But it can, and it does, with Ian’s up tempo Welsh lilt (his loveable peculiarity), seems comfortable with the niche he’s so deftly carved for himself and seems like he’s in no hurry to change his style anytime soon!!! Don’t fix what isn’t broken I say!
This show has more grit than a builder’s yard, more metal than a scrap heap and it goes on delivering, with the new sport the guys call grind-core tennis! It is totally insane but still awesome listening.
Thursday’s will never be the same again!
