Brutal Death Metal
Engaged in Mutilating began in June
2006, after three ex members of the band, Putrilage decided to play together
yet again. Aaron "Goregrowler" Mendiola (vocals), Anthony Guerrero
(Guitar), and Eddie Blanquiz (Guitar) got together with ex-Emperial Massacre
drummer, Del to begin writing music for what was to become Engaged in Mutilating. After a few shows under their belt, and a
few bass player try outs, the band chose Nick Bacling as their permanent bass
player. Now that the line-up was complete, in September 2007 they entered
Amplitude Studios in Austin, TX to record their first official demo, "The
Process of Human Extinction". Months later after remixing and re-mastering
the original recording, the demo was finally released in March 2008 when they
performed at the 2nd annual North Carolina Death Fest. This was the 2nd time Engaged in Mutilating was able to
perform in front of Comatose Music owner, Steve Greene. This label had already
worked with Engaged in Mutilating’s
vocalist with his previous band, Exulcerate so the working relationship was
already established. It was an easy choice for both sides to want to work
together.
In the summer
2008, Bassist, Nick Bacling left the band and was replaced by JR Rodriguez. In
October 2008, they went back to Amplitude Studios to begin work on their debut
full length album called "Population:
Zero" for Comatose Music. Finally in May 2009, the tracking, and
mixing were completed. The album was mastered by underground legendary
guitarist James Murphy (Death, Disincarnate, Testament, Konkhra, Obituary and
Cancer) The CD was released October 2009. Since the debut album is complete,
the band is already hard at work with writing songs for their 2nd album. The bands
musical Influences are Suffocation, Carcass, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Necrophagist,
Origin, Cannibal Corpse, Gorguts.
As of Nov 2011,
Aaron left the band, and they are now currently seeking a vocalist.

commence: War and fighting samples tastefully kick off this track it sounds
like you are in the middle of a battlefield with the eeriness of heavy breathing
which suddenly stops...
The Process of
Human Extinction
The journey
leads into a demonic crusade of grisly vocal and a bloody pounding of incessant
devilish drum beats with a scathing guitar of sinister riffs. The vocals are
cruel and mesmerizingly intoxicating.

The barrage of
putridity continues and if you never thought of harming yourself before then do
not listen any further... monstrous growls and demonic beats will carve their
way into the psyche and there is no escaping its brutal wrath!
Sphere of
Deception
The journey
gets more intense as the mounting agonizing growls build to one of pure evil. The
metal montage of blinding riffs will burn your eye balls out and leave you in a
coma.
Perverse Influx
Moving further
into the realms of the unknown the beastly sounds emerge even more grisly and
intense than before, the battle is not won and the beast continues to roam
around in its force field of demonic savagery. The cruel beats will literally
beat you into submission.
Metamorphosis
The savage
brutality continues you won’t have anywhere to run and hide as the growls
surround and choke you with pure and evil hatred. Scathing riffs and unpenetratable
blast beats will keep on attacking you.
Carnal
Decrepitude
The battle
still continues to rage fiercely - the listener and performer - with the
performer gaining strength in their ferocity of monstrous evil and the listener
weakening. The musical scales are compelling and rhythmic and will never give
you a chance of respite before beating you to death. Check your pulse to make
sure you are not dead!
Defiled
Existence
Battered and
bloody from the previous tracks the assault continues the heart rate is now at
its peak with the severity of the riffs continuing to leap out of the speakers
and throttle you even more savagely than before. The vocals never lose their
brutally but continue to get under your skin like a virus.
Reversion of
Perversion
Eerie clanking
and screams “sometimes death is better!” they may be right in this case as the
music grows to a frenzy of pure evil. How long can you listen before you join
them on the dark side? This is powerful shit incorporating a more sinister
vocal content.
Transcending
Dissolution
The journey is
nearing its end but not before one more final conflict of evil. The demonic
forces growing stronger and with the malicious and destructive work of two guitars, a drum, bass and wicked vocals it
looks like the Engaged in Mutilating battle
is nearly over and the listener now reformed (or should that be deformed?) into
becoming a follower!
Predominant
Illusions of Insanity
The final
onslaught begins and you are now mesmerised by brutal forces. Engaged in Mutilating have achieved
their ultimate goal – with the listener desperately wanting to repeat the
performance and succumb to their
world of evil and destructiveness. The vocals will have grabbed you and ripped
you limb from limb, the guitars will have sucked the blood from your splintered
flesh, the drums will have now crushed what is left and the bass will have
finished you off completely.
To sum up this
is terrifyingly good! As the music fades it will leave ringing in your ears but
don’t get too comfortable because Engaged
in Mutilating is ready and waiting in the wings to devour anyone who does
not comply with their wishes. Their resonating riffs so twisted will get inside
your head and drive you insane.
Brutally
superb! Evil personified! With journey completed you should now be a follower
of Engaged in Mutilating and if not
you soon will be! There is no escaping
the evil wickedness that is Engaged in
Mutilating – “There were dozens of bodies!” I bet yours were one of them!

technical death metal then check out Engaged
in Mutilating but be warned it may come with a hefty price tag and I don’t
mean dollars!! You will become an addict!
