With so many venues closing down due to a lot of things, money and apathy being two of them, it is refreshing to know that some people are doing something to try and stop this happening and four such people are Kaine. A heavy metal (NWOBHM) speed/thrash outfit, who started their journey in 2009 and through all the adversity and struggles have remained defiant, and it's well documented that they are one of the most hardworking bands within the metal scene today.

It is no surprise that Kaine wants to do their bit to keep music live, as they, like so many other bands know of the struggles, the loss of money and members along the way and the trouble it causes, but still remain strong and forthright in their convictions.

The track ‘Holding the Line’ can be bought for just £1.00 (less than the price of a cup of coffee) and all money raised will go to keeping The Asylum in Chelmsford open, and keeping metal alive for future generations to come.

It’s a typical Kaine track with lots of fierce chugs and vibrant momentum. It explores a real defiant nature which infuses a fantastic anthemic melody and addictive chorus. It installs the fighting nature of wanting something so badly and goes all out to achieve it! But they can’t do it on their own. All the hard work has been done by Kaine – now it is up to you!

I, like a lot of others, don’t live in the Chelmsford area but this will not stop me donating to a good cause and helping Kaine to achieve the goal they have worked so hard to accomplish.

Having followed Kaine from the start of their turbulent musical career, I can clearly see the progression the band have made and heard the changes along their musical path. They are certainly more vocal, more melodic and certainly more imaginative.

This track epitomises the band's steely nature, matched with their rebellious streak for defining what they are all about - Their humongous appetite for producing metal and being able to play it for years to come for eager metal heads that enjoy frequenting local venues.

£1.00 isn’t much to ask, so please do your bit by donating and sharing the track where possible and help keep a venue open as well as supporting underground metal along with Kaine in their constant battle to remain present day rebel rousers!

There is a lot of funky grooves going here for sure! The guys play with a lot of genres but the one that stands out is a rock melody and giant rhythm that goes hand in hand. The sizzling temptation is drenched in sonic spicy, and thrilling, harmonious splendour! The raw curved ball is thrown out once again and caught with the brilliant track ‘Vanity’ the aural chemistry is the perfect blend of seduction and irresistible intervention. The next track ‘Heroes of Mine’ simply shines with bristling rhythms that blossom in an atmosphere with fascinating hues! ‘Bipolar’ does indeed change the direction a bit into a thicker chugging beat and enduring rhythm with plenty of catchiness! ‘This Town’ gives way to a staunch heartfelt rhythm that protrudes with a swagger and manipulative beat. Strong harmonies and raw melodies rule on this track. ‘War Plane’ is a serious encounter with epic leanings and gigantic rhythms that are dramatic with fiery riffs. ‘Somme’ holds a marching beat and very apt for this time of year remembering the many who lost their lives in battle. ‘Yeah Boi’ is a rancorous canter into the playground on this instrumental pleasure dome and a superb track! ‘MFC’ no idea what this stands for but it holds plenty of boisterous rhythms and charms the audial with a conspiracy of dangerous riffs and urgent vocal entourage. The final track ‘Bill & Chief’ takes another direction with softer vocals and anxious, haunting lyrics, before turning the tables and pushing forth with another rousing rhythmic encounter.

Although this is quite a conventional album that will appeal to many, it doesn’t fail to capture that certain seductive charm. The music is heartfelt and been cleverly executed to produce one mesmeric masterpiece. Vocally engaging with no exception, and belting out well thought-out lyrics are all part of Renegade Twelve’s appeal.

It’s not hard to connect with the band at all, as their ever growing fan base will bear witness to. Their tracks are rigorous and gather no dust in the head banging stakes! Gathering warm and intensive vibes with each track bearing its own flames of melodic feistiness and zest for life!

The addictive devilry is inescapable and will no doubt leave a good few open-mouthed at the muscular rhythms the band have created. No matter what happens, Renegade Twelve are going in the right direction and will go the full distance!

The first track is a bit of a dirge truth be known. It ambles, although be it in a slightly melodic vein with a gathering of sampled incoherent voices but appears to be just a filler.  ‘Wide Awake’ however, really does open your eyes (and ears) as to what is hitting your head in some kind of psychotic outburst! The ‘Next of Kin’ packs an unexpected punch to the jaw too! with potent lures and cantankerous riffage! ‘Endless’ is a superb melodic swing with a humongous rhythm that invades with catchiness and individuality. Eclipsing Wide Awake – ‘Crash’ surges with lively abandon, combining a steely vocal and thunderous, powerful drumming that demands attention in the highest degree! The diverse twists for ‘Hell is us’ fair on taking your breath away. Lulling you into a false sense of security, starting off soft and caressing it then takes a lunge with long steel talons that don’t treat you gently at all! The riffage is rife, and makes a solid impact! ‘Far from anything’ is another melodic wake-up call as it fires merrily with a rousing demeanour and eager to spread its catchy metal wings. ‘Let it die’ is hard hitting and vibrant making it another fierce encounter that’s devilishly devious. The heat is on as it’s engaged with a pace that’s so fast it blurs! ‘Lord of the Flies’ also starts off super smooth and the female sampled voice speaks in French so don’t ask me what she is saying. ‘Burn’ not to be confused with Deep Purple’s version, is another hot and fiery tempest with a kick like a mule! Having that catchy chorus and chugging rhythm makes it a winner!  ‘Into the Labyrinth’ has an Eastern flavour going on and one would be forgiven if they thought they were in Kashmir. ‘Cauchemar’ moves quickly back to its deep heavy roots and pulverises with sonic fuel charged aggression! Its escapades hold a slight rap vocal which adds spice to the proceedings. ‘Just a Halo away’ I doubt whether these guys even know what a halo is, they seem firmly fixed on creating melodic havoc with devilish twists and no doubt have 666 tattooed across their foreheads in invisible ink. Well, they are full of surprises!

This has been a real romp in the dark. I certainly wasn’t sure about Inire from the off, but boy oh boy, they have so changed my mind!

Not only has this EP got a remarkable colourful cover it also possesses some really deep heavy groove to compliment it. It literally does take you to another dimension that truly offers a buoyant flit into an enjoyable adventure. The strides of doom-laden prowess simply resonate a fierce and defiant groove that bolsters the psyche from great heights. ‘Key and Bone’ pulsates with a juddering temptation that promises everything and more besides. It can hardly contain its feisty rhythms matched by a mesmeric beat and radiating more than just a satisfying crunch.

‘Ursa Machina’ takes a bit to get going and rewards with a deep pounding menace that spikes with angular wiriness and increasingly urgent in tone. Its emotions are raw and penetrating conjuring up jagged images and start off slow in pace but quicken slightly further on with a deliberately seductive vocal be it shrill and combining a thickly textured rhythm, with expanding bass hooks. Much later on but takes on a wild turn as the music burrows feverishly, striking a snarling swipe at the senses like a worm on acid.

‘Pink Glass’ gives the drums a run for their money and attacks like a round of machine gun fire. The bulbous rhythms pound generously and melodically, with a catchiness of their own. The potent grooves and hooks are plentiful and have a firm hold on the audial cavities with resounding effect. The energy exudes with a deep magnetic captivation that piques the attention and is a very enjoyable listen. This track is a whopping eight minutes and fifty-three seconds and holds a lot of twists and turns. It gives the bass a time to shine with a sinister and alluring appeal.

‘In the Court of the Bastard’ is a sneaky mischievous number with the heavy groove and embraces with everything it’s got! The beats are worthy of moving the neck, if you are feeling energetic, however, I feel that with the tempo of this Sabbathesque track you are not going to be able to contain yourself for very long. The rhythms bounce with vigour and the riffs are rife with added spice and potency. A new dimension has been reached and there is no going back. This track reaches some kind of interstellar force that kicks up a solar wind, which will explode into tiny dust particles.

You know what they say “In space, no-one can hear you scream!”

As cheesy as it sounds, ‘Metal is for everyone’ opts for catchy and epic but most important it mentions Vikings and metal in the same breath. It is definitely an ‘earworm’ moment and for those who don’t know what an ‘earworm’ is it’s when a song stays in your head and you can’t shift it, however, this is a really pleasing track that is made welcome with a fast break-neck speed attached to it. If Vikings could choose music this would be the track they’d choose, while swinging their tankards of mead!

The melodic rhythm of ‘Hammer of Gods’ kicks up a storm and once again feeds the ears to a feast of enjoyment. ‘A World beyond’ holds some teasing melodic rampage and is definitely harmony filled with a ferocity that transports you into a world of epic bounce and magnetism!

‘Master of Light’ keeps us in medieval times with that haunting rhythm and broods with manipulative lures that are bold and forthright, telling a very compelling and positive story.

‘Kings rise and fall’ the sweeping melodic notes give the track a powerful uplifting creative flair, while the riffs are fast and furious and infect with perpetual emotion.

‘Cradle of Angels’ has a beautiful medieval twist, transporting you back to forgotten times. The slowest track on the album is sad, voiced with emotion and stirring proposals. ‘Emerald Skies’ instinctively sends shivers down the spine as another epic metal lullaby bewitches. Melodies simply abduct the audial with resounding intoxicating twists and uplifting edge! ‘Hail the Legend’ the band go into battle, as it perpetuates motion marching to war and winning hearts.  It’s a glorious track that reaps its reward winning superb melodic favour! ‘Ghost Ballet’ a very clever title created with brilliant keyboard notes, fluctuating with lustful smouldering! The riffs enslave the audial and the vocals are extremely addictive as they belt out heartfelt lyrics.

‘Rock the Nation’ another very catchy and melodic track simply oozes irresistible pleasure and is most definitely happy melodic metal. ‘Riders in the Sky’ possesses a haunting trait that soon picks up speed and ravishes with enticing rancour, painting more positive pictures with superb emotional turbulence. ‘High up’ the ingredients of this track will get everyone on a high, as it lights the way to positivity with a high kick! The music bounces with feverish and expressive tones.

Giving your neck a good workout from the start ‘Crossroad of Fire’ kicks in and takes control. The vocals are raspy, while the music is played at break-neck speed and tenacious. ‘This is underground’ is bred within the same vein as the previous track, creating chaos, consistently roaring and doesn’t stop to gather breath! ‘Chaos upon us’ does, however, start off at a more reasonable pace and certainly doesn’t sound as chaotic, although there is a lot more going on here, the change of tempo for starters and that’s when the chaos appears when you least expect it! ‘The Underdog’ is again matched with a spectacular steadfast sprint towards the finish line, and a vocal that sounds like its retching! ‘We choose who suffers’ has a superb rhythm etched into its colossal structure, make no mistake! Plus strong bass hooks and melodic twisting hues! ‘Worship the old ways’ scampers feverishly to an intense conclusion, making forcible turbulence and leaving a dust trail in its wake! ‘Below the pale sky’ this is where everything changes and a beautiful melodic tapestry comes into view. It’s a breathless wonder of uplifting music that contrasts to all the previous tracks and gives the album a slight diversity. The vocals are still raspy and in the spotlight but the emotional wrangle is simply stunning and epic in every sense of the word, proving that Conceived by Hate is capable of more than just death thrash. ‘Summoning the Graves’ back to their damming roots CbH nestle back into their particular blend of music and fiercely gather momentum, hitting the potency once more. ‘Death & Beyond’ the final song and the band's title track starts off at a slow pace and suddenly changes tempo going in for the kill at the drop of a hat. Snarling vehemently and deeply gripping with great melodic rhythm.

Although the band do what they say on the jar, there are a few good surprises to be experienced on this album. It may sound similar in places but the change of tempos and swagger of rhythms coax you into a whirlwind of lively and inventive rhythms that deserve to be explored and savoured.

Without a doubt, the track ‘Below the pale sky’ is an absolute masterpiece. Conceived by Hate are superb musicians and deserve recognition for that but definitely worth checking out and savouring the sultry moments among the fire and brimstone!

Today a lot of bands sing about battles and battlefields, the enemy, the good guys and nine times out of ten it is sung to the killer roar of heavy metal music and Civil War cannot be the exception to this rule, especially with their name, however, this is superb power metal that really strikes feverishly at the hearts of the weak. The positivity oozes from its bulging veins and victory is in sight. The stuttered and choppy keyboard rhythm paves the way for more victorious spirit, salvation is near with this uncompromising track ‘Deliverance’ ‘Savannah’ holds some strong lyrics as they battle through the nurtured rhythms that refuse to take no for an answer.  ‘Tombstone’ has a rather cheeky and humorous tone attached to it – done in a Circus vein before it thunders into a rapturous affair and not one I was expecting! ‘America’ turns to a more serious vein with a heavy uplifting surge of tones, but none the less chunky and melodic. ‘A Tale that should never be told’ is bold and shows essences of tangy vocals with spiced rhythms that melt together in utter perfection. ‘Gangs of New York’ doesn’t rest on its Laurels as it smothers the ears with bruising flair and invading hooks. ‘Gladiator’ as expected is a rousing battle of beats and rhythms and sung with vocal contagion. ‘People of the Abyss’ is a chugging, thunderous affair that holds a firm grip on the ears and doesn’t let go not for a second. The large slabs of melodic grandeur dictate the direction it takes and makes it a rebel rouser! ‘The last full Measure’ moves to the direction of a haunting organ and sweeps melodically, although the sweet notes are overpowered with a rampaging rhythm shortly after and the creative influx of scintillating orchestral tirade dominates with sheer ferocity to its close.

There is no doubt about it Civil War can make a noise, but it isn’t just any old noise, it is one that means business as it scours the depths, soars the heights and everything in between. It’s relentless, brave, and definitely, spells a triumphant victory for the band as each track takes down another enemy and notches up another glorious achievement to add to its honesty and domination in the metal stakes.

The goal and indeed destiny has been ear-marked with sounds from this amazing album – the war is won!

“Circle of Dust, the 90s industrial/electronic-rock project created by visionary artist/producer Klayton, marked the beginning of the musical career of the man who later went on to create independent success as Celldweller, as well as forming his own label - FiXT. Along with four full-length Circle of Dust albums in the 90s (Circle of Dust, Brainchild, Metamorphosis, Disengage), Klayton created a side-project under the name Argyle Park, which featured a vast collection of guest collaborators, including Tommy Victor of Prong, J.G. Thirlwell of Foetus and Mark Salomon (Stavesacre/Crucified).

Locked away collecting "dust" for 20+ years, the rights to the Circle of Dust & Argyle Park albums were unavailable to Klayton as the original labels they were signed to shut down in the mid-90s. After 2 decades of pursuing a deal to regain ownership of the albums, Klayton was finally able to reclaim the rights in 2015.

As Klayton began planning the remastering and re-release of the original albums, a new idea began to grow. He decided to not only re-release each album but to fully resurrect the project and create a new full-length Circle of Dust album, to be released December 2016, nearly 20 years after the last Circle of Dust release.

Not only are all the re-releases being remastered, but each will include demos, unreleased bonus tracks, acoustic/alternate versions of tracks as well as some new remixes, with each album being released every 8 weeks, starting with the Self-Titled on March 4th, 2016!”

From the off the angst and industrial swipes are engaging and play out with a surge of vengeance and ambience. The title track Machines of our Disgrace harbours a clinical approach that is cold and unemotional although the fascinating swipes of rhythms collide with a lively melody and clean vocal, however, urgent and niggling. The twists in the tracks bury like worms into the skin and flirt with the audial membranes. Contagion holds a malignant chug that bruises with contempt for its contemporaries as the perfect melodic lures become apparent and possess a rich and satisfying swagger. Embracing Entropy has a simply pulsating rhythm that is exciting and roars with addictive moments. Humanarchy flows with a deep rhythmic punch and gruff demonic growl which is aesthetically pleasing to the ears. Signal sends out a warning of an imminent nuclear attack that can strike anytime. Alt-Human overflows with bristling rhythms and is infused with a fantastic chorus that no doubt will be a floor gatherer! It will certainly not tow the line anytime soon! Superb track!  Hive Mind reminds us that only the strong survive. It is just pure emotion with a haunting melody.  Outside In gives out a spacey feel and an Eastern urgency, with soft vocals and a haunting provocation. Neurachem takes on a darker edge that turns even bolder as the track unfolds and brings with it some clanking fiery rhythms. K-OS is a menagerie of sounds that fuse together with lively acclaim. Neophyte further igniting its engaging rhythm and melodious beats it pulses out its vibrant energy and throttles with a primal instinct. Malacandra taps into a resonating surge that breeds pure angst. It holds a very dark emotion that enslaves a wiry sound.

Not very often do I get to review industrial electronic metal, so when it does comes along, it needs to be savoured and fully experienced. The lush keyboard rhythms can portray sadness, happiness, uplifting connotations and downright haunting passages. This album can and indeed should bring you to your knees and your senses because there is so much to enjoy within each track. It’s harsh and bitter coldness can warm up in an instant or turn dark and devious, there’s no telling with Industrial electronica, it’s the element of surprise that keeps it refreshing.

The tonal splendour can take on various twists and turns as the melodic hunger reinforces the wealth of its addiction!
