Biography:

"Founded in late 2010 Warcrab hail from the South West of England and were formed through friendships forged during previous local musical projects. Their crushing style and colossal live sound draws on a range influences including Death, Black and Doom Metal as well as classic bands such as Black Sabbath.

In this Iron Tomb

The E.P begins with an ambient flavour of doom and then progresses into a sludge that is engaged in heavy antagonistic twists be them from a bombastic array of blast beats and scorching voracious onslaught of vocals that are spiked with yet more viciousness that is distinctively exhilarating.

Lay all to Waste

The urgency on this track although slightly slower than the previous track does not take away from its thick resounding excitement as it coaxes and teases its way into the spotlight. Its torrent of bewitching energy is apparent and quite technically structured. The vocals are heavy, dark and engaging through-out whilst the deep cataclysmic grooves swagger with predation.

Scourge of the Usurper

The textures are bold and malevolent in their approach to quite literally sweep the listener into a maelstrom of dark madness. It is cloaked in a swaggering rhythmic flurry of seething guitars that briskly intervene with more than just an emotive force.

Entombed in Flames

Well there are signs of fatigue on the neck muscles kicking in now – this track has more of a black metal feel especially where the vocals are concerned as they sound shrill and gnarly, however they fluctuate between death and black adding yet more interest to an already mesmerising and indeed menacing track.

Ashes of Carnage

Another high octane track that challenges as well as teases its victims into submission. Its tempests soar and swoop on the aural like a hungry vulture. Forcibly wrapping a steely haze of rhythms around a seething vocal prowess whilst the hasty swipes of the drums keep it guided on certain levels whilst being unrestrained in others.

Summary:

This is one superb E.P that just keeps on delivering the goods at a hearty rate, certainly ticking all the boxes for brutality and intrigue. It holds plenty of addictiveness in its out stretched hands.

Contagious, and melodic, its musical accompaniment is heavy and under its heaviness lies a nonchalant swagger of rhythm. Vocally scintillating it pushes the frenzy boundaries and leaps stealthily into an unknown void.

Greedy for attention and exceeding its own brutality. Who would have thought that doom and sludge be so accommodating?  Drenched in pure hatred and taking on a tremendous presence that is equally unlimited, this is one fired up, fuelled filled brawl.

For those who love the power of death metal with doom, sludge and black injected components then look no further than this E.P – it has more energy than a gym goer on steroids that is typically walking sideways!!

Biography:

“DUNGORTHEB is a French Metal band influenced by Death, Coroner, and Pestilence... formed in 1996 in Epinal.

The first tape "Trip into Obscurity" released in 1996, the band takes care of the artwork and sound, allowing them to play the local scene and open to Merciless and Sup.

In 2003, the band released their first album "Intended To" On the label Perennial Quest Records. They receive very good reviews in the national and international press allowing them to play in France, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg with bands like Marduk, Nostromo, and Blockheads.

Contacted by the Chinese label Area Death Productions, Dungortheb contributed a track to the memory of Chuck Schuldiner tribute album for the said label.

After l line-up change, the band stabilized and released their second album "Waiting for Silence," recorded by El Mobo in Conkrete Studio. The production quality allowed it to be distributed in France and the Benelux countries by Great Dane Records label and shared stages with Gorod, Eths, and Born from Pain.

After more than 15 years of existence, Dungortheb working on their third album while continuing to make music with the various European organisers at concerts and festivals”

Intro

When you know the worst is about to happen... the dripping echoes of a tap, a girl crying hysterically, a large steel door opening... it’s what dreams are made of! Well OK Nightmares, but lets not split hairs here!

Inside

The brutality spins out of control in this damning example of a tried and tested method of bludgeoning beats and fluent guitar riffs that congeal to bring in mighty tempting components led by a harsh emotive vocal rampage.

Red Night

A robust track once again that splices the aural with attention grabbing vocal adding thick rampant bass hooks and mighty beats so that they infuse wildly and explode with a frenzy of guitar that melodically lures with contempt.

Behind your Eyelids

The excellent guitar riffs focus on the aural along with grazing vocal onslaught that’s undoubtedly on a collision course for hell. Wielding savage power and toxic destruction in its wake as the drumming slams and kicks in a supreme healthy manner.

More shrill and expert guitar riffery is all encompassing and explodes into action inciting yet more brutality as it hits the tender audial cavities and rips fiendishly in this riotous storm of brooding evil personified.

Sad War

This is a lot heavier with deep ravenous riffing and mighty bass with lashings of slam beats and formidable vocal teasing that melts together in a tempestuous frenzy of brutal death metal and of course highly engaging!

Impact

Toys with the senses striking menacingly and in a dramatic wash of flames burns a powerful mark right between the eyes. Its fast and contagious leaving ripples of hate under the skin.

When I believe I live

Swaggers with an overwhelming melodic gait. Boasting furious antagonistic shots of malice in its attempt to shock and does not deviate from its main purpose to strike the fear of disorientation into its structures and passing them on to its listeners.

From Memories to Silence

If you think of the word fast – think again! This is supersonically charged with a high octane mesh of majestic provocation. It sizzles in a heat sink and again ignites into a creative fire-ridden mass that is populated with a deep melodic rhythm.

Heaven can’t hate

Rampaging with passions that excite and scintillate it wraps keenly around the ears and doesn’t let go. It is drenched in riveting tones and offers a bait that is hard not to succumb to – so just sit back and wallow in its frenzy.

Outside

Taking mighty strides into oblivion this literally leaps out and smashes through the aural kicking hard between the central cortex in a blinding embrace. It broods expansively edging to its end in a mighty swagger of continuing promise and melting the senses as it fades out.

Summary:

A highly pleasing and engaging album that blisters in its own heat as the swathe of rhythms feast on the morsels of your ever degenerating aural. Vocally scarring and intense it doesn’t mess about – it means business, spreading its vile infection on just listening alone.

It impacts, explodes and in places implodes, wreaking havoc on the senses as it creates a disturbance through an oppressive and abrasive powerful energy that one can seriously class as deadly.

Whoaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Makes note to oneself not to turn the volume up to 11 unless they want their brains to explode!! What an amazing track! The musical flanks swagger melodically pushing the boundaries of what are considered normal. Sweeping ferociously to a full on vocal onslaught and never concedes defeat!

Lost in Apathy

A superb start yet again and creating a more vehement fast pace with staggering harmonies and vocal mesmerisation. Fret wise it lures with creative appeal and passion.

Doomsday

Is a thickly textured track with strenuous deep sinews that slice menacingly through the aural and invents its own drama. Harmonies once more work well together on this predatory track.

Chaos Theory

This has an unusual beginning and contains a spicy compelling weave of bewildering mischief. It’s a very enterprising encounter boasting melodic hues and fiery sinews.

Lionheart

Mustering up shrill ambiance and then plunges to a depth taking your ears with it. Firing capably on a tenacious vibrancy with swelling embraces of demanding riffs and strenuous throaty snarls. Brilliant!

The jagged riffs and gaggle of beats turn into a swarm of angry bees and go on a rampage, its eager gnawing chews on the senses whilst the harmonies keep it tempered and earthy.

Amber Alert

Has a hearty slab of unruly rhythm flowing through its mighty bulging veins and rips through a sonic flurry of melody and gnarly vocal turmoil. Good head banging material.

Renegade

Bangs out a furious rambunctious beat with the melodic content constantly moving.  It possesses a very mature gait of sultry strings which kiss the ears with a powerful embrace.

Ecstasy

Offers an abrasive battering of beats and tempered structures that tower emotively, potent and enriching its exploits literally toying with the senses and is a majestic enticing track.

Still small Voice

Unusual track that builds with a mountainous terrain of towering beats and rabid riffs alongside a bewitching harmony. The gnarly vocals give it that angry hate filled edge.

Summary

This album is a mix of metal-core and progressive metal that is brought together in a momentous infused encounter. It floods the aural with feisty chunks of melodic temperament and boasts a magnetic pull on the senses.

Its anger and injection fuelled vocal ravishing’s make no mistake and is just as intense as it is gripping. Although it isn’t thoroughly unique, it still has just enough bite and riveting qualities that will impress through-out its ten tracks of blistering madness.

This album should be received well by metal heads that enjoy their music raw and powerful with a boisterous potency!

This four track E.P may leave you slightly unhinged and very much disturbed! It rains down with unrelenting malice, littered in a frenzy of ravenous riffs and bludgeoning beats, strong bass hooks and deliciously hungry vocals that will eat you alive.

Through its sheer hostility it compels, coaxes and devours at an alarming rate! It can be likened to a firing squad but these guys will kill you with drum beats alone and force feeds you with a hungry appetite for severe annihilation!

Totally a sonic breeding ground for utter malevolence that breeds through its almighty metal core. It is dramatic and not afraid to surpass its boundaries with an ever increasing grip on the senses, being one metal mass of gnawing grooves that add spice as well as a big metal spike right up the jacksy!

Thoroughly engaging and extremely absorbing E.P overall, that needs to be savoured before it devours you completely!

Biography:

“The band started in the mid-80s under the name Damned Cross. After recording a demo rehearsal "excretion of infected corpses" soon and like with most bands, line-up changes followed and they decide to adopt a new name that had more consistency with style and lyrics and this is how Cenotaph was born.

In 1989 they recorded the first demo "Rise of Excruciation" independently with dark and raw death metal, which helped them become known in the world market and quickly were considered a serious band on the metal scene.

By 1990 the band released their 7 "EP" Tenebrous Apparitions " (two tracks) under Distorted Harmony Records and limited to one thousand copies.

This EP was sold out quickly, which was then re-released in 1992; the album is an example of death metal, and a combination of current and emerging European average American traditional but always bares the Cenotaph trademark!”

The Solitudes

Sounding very Mexican indeed! No getting away from it, not that that is a bad thing at all, but just making a note as the track begins with a very broken English voice, although it soon melts into a damming hearty hellacious roar!

Severance

The abrasive vocal extremities mix with a compelling thunderous lure of guitars that are sonically tenderised by a meat cleaver! The brawling imagination is quickly fired up with an insurgency of drum beatings.

Grief to Obscuro

Let the carnival continue be it on a hellish journey into the unknown. Relentless in its delivery and a strenuous stampede of up tempo raucous frenzy to follow, slowing briefly to catch its rampaging breath before continuing on to its final assault.

Macabre Locus Celesta

Poised and ready to pounce, with staggering melodic tones amid monstrous heavyweight vocal plundering, and has an attitude that holds more rhythmic malignancy.

Among the Abrupt

Prowls with a predatory guise its wraps itself greedily around the aural like bindweed and little time is wasted by the appearance of another vocal brawl, held together with a rabid bass hook and feisty riffs.

It has a chill factor about it that is deeply disturbing as the vocals are not harmonious but strained and forceful, that begs the listener to sit up and take notice.

Infinitum Valet

Focussed on its tirade of bludgeoning beats and hellish vocal this track resonates evil in every sense of the word. Basking in a deep chasm of groove and wickedness that scintillates through-out its large structures.

The Silence of our Black Oceans

A rather ambient surrounding with softer guitar which is impressive and shows the bands more gentle approach and diversity. No vocal rampage here at the moment, just sombre strings that wash over the ears, that is of course until a hellish scream bursts in when you least expect it!

Soul Profundis

Back to seducing and whetting the appetite with its feisty onslaught of sickening blood thirsty vocal approach and underlying riveting adventures. It offers more than just a strenuous tenacity but gives the ears a good clean out in a whirling of robust beats.

Ectasia Tenebrae

Concluding this 9 track album is a total brooding frenzy capable of stomping all over the aural in a mesmeric array of grandeur and vicious vocal. The urgent sound of riffs twist and turn through a scintillating rapacious smashing of drum beats that are the driving force of the band’s almighty sound.

Summary

This album is very technical and progressive through-out its malingering frenzy and vocal entourage, which sounds extremely urgent and engaging. It fires on all cylinders, possessing a certain ambiance and even has some black metal components contained with its steely structures.

Evil drips quickly from its pores offering intrigue and urgency. The guitars as I mentioned above contain a brutal technical flurry whilst the slow and more sombre track “The Silence of our Black Oceans” brings a dark ambient flavour to the mix and adds depth to an already deep chasm of blackness.

It has a chill factor about it that is deeply disturbing as the vocals are not harmonious but strained and forceful, that begs the listener to sit up and take notice.

It is not your typical death metal album, as the band have added in certain workings that breed discord and pure evil and wrapped it into an irresistible encounter with a harsh and toxic spike of malevolence!

It is rough, gruff, and mean and literally avenges its victims with a pure hate filled rampage!

Listeners beware though this album doesn’t flow with melodic tendencies but with more of a harsh and brooding nature.
