Formed in 2008,
from the Glasgow area of Bonny Scotland, Diementia is a melo-death/thrash band
taking their influences from bands such as Maiden to Pantera and Lamb of God
through to Decapitated.
Soon after the
debut album "Tears of Blood"
was unleashed, quickly gained recognition in the metal community and on
Facebook, spurring demand for Diementia
to be a live band.
A few years
later, and through varying line ups, the band finally came together in 2011
with the subsequent release of the 4 track E.P "Forgotten Dead" following in early 2012
Diementia have now started their onslaught on
the UK with their own brand of melodic, death, thrash metal, having played
numerous venues; as well as a blistering set at the very first Beermageddon which was an instant hit -
these guys are gaining popularity all over the place.
The cover of
the E.P. is as you would expect – with the Diementia
logo emblazoned in fire and under it a skull that looks every bit as evil as
the music contained within the CD.
Ravaged by Fire
A healthy
flurry of strings opens this track with ominous brooding bass and the most evil
of vocals. Diementia has arrived!! A rounded blend of lazer edged guitars
gives it that rhythmic feel whilst the drums don’t overtake but simply enhances
the malevolent sound that is Diementia.
Cracked
Fiery guitars
rip open this track with yet more guttural screams which build to a malicious
intensity and conjures up an image of wind-milling frenzied metal heads fuelled
to the brim on alcohol on a Saturday night. The rhythmic plunder of the track
fires on all cylinders – it is evil in its most purest of forms. It does not
let up but carries on literally exploding into an array of molten metal with
driving rhythms that cannot be ignored.
Annihilation (of the mind)
Vocally superb
this track will melt the most hardened of metal fans everywhere. Damming, hard
and brutal the way I like it! It literally fires up the blood which will curse
the body at speed raising the temperature a bit as well as making the heart
beat faster.
Uncover the Truth
Devilish beats
accompany a torrent of superb wicked rhythms which in turn will feed the
frenzy. Great bass hooks will leave you mesmerised as the fever takes hold, forceful
guitars will reap havoc on the psyche as well as give your ears a good work
out. Pounding blast beats reign down and will leave you fired up to repeat the
performance. Truly a great track!
Superb E.P! There
isn’t anything that has been forgotten or left out on this masterpiece – (except
maybe the dead!) it is hard hitting, with a deluge of blast beats and damming
vocal accompaniment that will leave you gagging for breath. The monstrous
rhythms will just simply devour you!
The only thing
left for you to add to this superb E.P is to give your hair a good work out and
to music like this I think that will come naturally!
For all
melo-death/thrash fans out there who love their music brazen, uncompromising
and most definitely unholy - I urge you to check out Diementia and add this superb work to your ever growing collection
of molten metal – I guarantee they won’t disappoint on ANY level.
