You know the feeling, you are in a bit of a sombre mood, you just
want a bit of excitement, and a little bored with routine... Well, it doesn’t
happen often for me as usually I am fiendishly checking out bands etcetera but
then something out of the blue happens and it suddenly turns routine on its
head!
This is one of those moments – clicking on a link, yes that is all
it takes to turn your day from one of bore to score!
This video starts with the plodding of feet that quickly make their
way into a building and up some winding steps with the familiar sound of a band
whose sounds are escaping through the walls of a recording studio.
Four females appear to be kicking ass with one up beat rock track –
Devil Woman’ nothing strange about that you say, until... you realise it is not
the band Phoenix of Avalon playing,
this gets a little more interesting...
The camera suddenly pans over to the other side of the door and cue one angry looking guy who is feverishly trying everything to get on the other
side of the closed door, helped along by three other guys, who I now immediately
recognise as non-other than Phoenix of
Avalon.
When pushing the door doesn’t work, a gun is brought out, although
Wakey doesn’t appear to be very good with a firearm – probably a good thing as
he may shoot himself in the foot! (The band behind the door continues their
onslaught unaware anything is going on behind it) Then, what appears to be a
light sabre is used – by Dave, good job he is better at playing guitar than
using a light sabre!
So now Phoenix of Avalon
really get mean and donning masks, the muscular shape of Steve appears at the
end of the corridor, flexing his sturdy muscles and with the others joining him,
makes a run for the door, - still nothing happens until finally the door does open
and this tinny, meagre sound emerges.
Cue one surprised and guilty looking female band from behind the door
and four even more equally surprised and angry looking band members of Phoenix of Avalon – move over girls! Phoenix of Avalon are here and in a few
seconds both sexes come together to finish off the track in a grand finale.
It is a great video with loads of twists, turns and surprises along
the way all done in a tongue in cheek manner, which has to make you smile and
the music isn’t bad either, so it is a double thumbs up!
See what clicking on a link can do for you - to change your mood and
feelings – you may be pleasantly surprised – unless your band is being ripped
off by other musicians, still, I have a feeling that Harri Hinsley, Nat
Kennedy, Jessica Corcoran, and Abi Bennett are all in cahoots with Phoenix of Avalon – so there was no
loss of blood during the making of this vid!!!!
