Without a doubt it is arguably
safe to say that on Halloween all Hell breaks loose, as not only kids dress up
and want to be part of the bigger picture it is the adults too that share in
this fun event, and what better way to have fun than dress up and sit in a
makeshift electric chair?

With Roadhog appearing as the only
band at the Fox & Goose, Sound Lounge in Southport – their two strong sets
of bone crunching classic rock were welcomed by an eager and appreciative
audience.
The drink flowed just as much as
the music rolled and in true Roadhog style the banter once more was brought to
life with the help of some garish images and not only from the band either!
Their timeless classics resonated
around the Fox & Goose as people donned various costumes, some doubled up,
there being two Jason’s, three cats, a handful of witches and two grim reaper’s
that I could make out in the dimly lit venue, but it mattered little, as the
atmosphere once again came alive and was enjoyed by a bounty of people taking
to the dance floor to strut their unusual moves.

It wouldn’t be Halloween without
it getting a bit silly, and this time there were a cluster of people at the
front of the stage simply batting a small green balloon around, needless to
say, that my phobia happens to be balloons (as well as bangers!) but don’t get
me started on them.

madness and all while singing. The stage adorned some spooky little monsters as
well as a large blow up train – who Graham named ‘The Crazy Train’ which was
apt and very fitting for the occasion.

The highlight of the evening was
when Chris Adams got up along with the drummer of the Trollbanger’s, Tasos Kirykos
replacing Roadhog’s Raymondo to perform Warpigs, as it is a classic track that
everyone just goes mental for - and it looks like this will become a regular
occurrence providing either Graham or Chris are in the crowd at each other’s
gigs.

Everyone put their all into making
this gig a superb one for Halloween with some going all out for sheer eye
opening appeal with their extravagant costumes.
Even the staff had made a concerted effort to look the part and even
made the entrance look appealing with a blow up monster that looked very
intimidating.

The break in between sets was a
mere brief one before Roadhog got up again and kicked off rocking things up to
a heavier level as always.
This gig far out-weighed the one
the night before at The Victoria – that being a more low key affair and without
costumes, however still fun to watch.
As the band drew to a close with their
second set – that horrible come down hit like a brick – and we all get that
after gigs, don’t we?
But everyone was in good spirits and the good spirits were in
everyone!
