Drawing comparisons to August Burns Red, Born Of Osiris, and Within The Ruins, TAKE THE THRONE has unleashed two EPs, 2014’s ‘Guardian’, which featured guest appearances by Spencer Charnas of Ice Nine Kills and Fred Beaulieu of Beheading of A King and 2013’s debut EP ‘Legacy’. Having already shared the stage with bands such as Veil of Maya, Intervals, Born of Osiris, The Contortionist and Norma Jean along many others. TAKE THE THRONE are gearing up for a 2015 packed with more touring, more shows and getting the mosh pit going like a super charged blender. Their first tour this summer will be supporting Sons of Sirens along with Loyalist for a Canadian tour across Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta this May and June (dates listed below)

"We are extremely excited to release our music video for 'Artificial Heart'. The video was shot by director and cinematographer Ben Dundas and visual effects, editing and colour grading by Igor Omodei of the band Uneven Structure. We had a lot of fun developing the plot for this album and can't wait to see the response from our fans! Fun fact, Nick Xourafas of the band Structures played the role of the lead soldier in the video." comments from guitarist Tom Jakobs.

From the off the video houses an eerie bleakness set on stormy seas that ravish the landscape.

The Canadian quintet are obviously battling the elements in this cleverly put together video that just keeps on giving, and the contagious dark heart of its very being beats to no-one else’s drum. The eerie moments of startling brutality, rouse some stirring moments that capture the band’s essence for a purely vicious onslaught of the senses with vehement grooves becoming apparent as a surging malevolence takes over and reaps its hearty revenge.

In the dimness of light the ferocious rampage continues and from it a forceful lure of steely vocals barbarously attack the aural cavities with extreme infestation, leaving a smoky black haze that melts into the shadows.

The rhythms are firm and muscular and attack without mercy. The bass throbs with hooks of extreme intent while battling alongside are the drums that beat with malicious excitement.

The images captured within this five minutes and three second video are compelling with plenty of intrigue and anticipation, and not surprisingly getting a lot of recognition far and wide.

The sinister energy literally bursts at the seams and protrudes with relish making this a brutal offering that more than leaves the ears bruised but yet still wanting more!

This video is guaranteed to whip up a fury and leave scars in its wake!

Potergeist!

Biography:

“Founded in Athens, Greece in 2004, Potergeist started out as a southern metal band in the vein of Down and C.O.C. After countless gigs on the Athens scene the band recorded their debut "Southwards" in 2006 which was released a year later on Burning Star records. In 2008, the band entered the studio again to release their follow up self-titled E.P which showcased a harder nosed feel than its predecessor.

2015 saw the return of Potergeist after a short break recording their 4th studio album "Crocodile Tears" produced and mixed by Pete Rutcho (Falling in Reverse, The Ghost Inside, Deez Nuts, Revocation, Bury Your Dead, Havok, Seamless...) with cover art handled again by Angry Blue. Potergeist are getting ready to hit the stages once again!”

Swamp Must Summoning

The album opens with a rather cold vocal and not escorted by any music at all, although sung in key it isn’t what I was expecting.

Crocodile Tears

Title track of the album – this track plays right into the audial with large chugs of electrifying rock. The vocal is cold no more and rather harsh but very flexible. The music is heavy and down to earth with no flights of fancy, its powerful brooding riffs are muscular and intense with a melodic vein that runs through its epicentre.

Visit from a Swampire

Swamping the light fantastic – this track bristles with a hooks a plenty and swaggers under the weight of its own grooves! It’s a glorious romp of good ole rock n roll!

What then

This track runs with a flurry of evolving rhythms and just explode in a pliable fenzy. The dramatic approach sweeps you off your feet and will no doubt have the head nodding in appreciation to its biting sounds.

Truth

Sees the frets getting a good outing with striking potency and essences with labour intense seductive qualities. This is part raw part tamed and engages with sheer enthusiasm.

Atonement

Haunting and melodic it teases with deep unwavering rhythmic potergency. (See what I did there?) Again swaggering under the heavy structure created by the band. Smothered in a ‘ripe for picking’ blues riff with a superb harmonic content!

The Preacher and the Witch

Addictive from the off, this track enthrals with its metronome rhythms and melodic beats. It holds quite a savage content that has a lot going on within its bold structure.

Eve

The exploits of this track evolve with ravenous creativity that is skilfully carved into a strong pumping rhythm, and impacting with a blending contagion.

Last Punk standing

Nothing to do with actual punks – so you can get off your pogo sticks right now! This one chugs with enthusiasm and sonic rhythm, all encased within a heavy rock vein. Potergeist pack a punch with this deeply resonating track that sees unrelenting beats grab with seductive edge.

Summary:

Although this album isn’t ground breaking, it does however, pack a punch and can safely be described as heavy rock! But with plenty to get your teeth into.

It’s fascinating as it is impacting and Potergeist have pulled all the stops out on this 9 track album and given us catchy rhythms and enthralling beats that capture their essence superbly well.

The only thing the band will have to watch is trying not to sound too similar in each of their tracks, as I feel slightly more diversity is needed to make this a truly phenomenal album, but other than that it’s a swaggering temptation of gnawing rhythms that do please in more ways than one!

“The Norwegian Metaller’s who first formed in 2009 have now produced a second album entitled ‘Afterlife’ which was recorded in April 2014, and mixed/mastered during the summer of 2014.  Preparing for the extensive touring they had coming up, Dienamic had to make for some line-up changes, and early October 2014 saw Sebastian Jacobsson, Kenneth Iversen Muotkajærvi and Eivind Kjær Killie taking up duties on drums, bass and rhythm/lead guitar respectively. At the same time the band signed a very good record deal with Worm Hole Death (IT). Pantera, Motörhead, Foo Fighters, Stonegard, Gojira and Deep Purple lists among many of the bands that have influenced Dienamic’s music!”

The Reaping

This is an ear blasting experience that smashes with a crashing presence and matched with an ever enthusiastic battle cry - vocal battering! The dramatic grooves are pummelling and grandiose inbred with turbulence and spellbinding riffs!

Innocent Gun

Is wild and untamed and spews forth an irrepressible beat that in turn mesmerizes with vicious intent? Intoxicating and raw it engages with pure thrash groove excitement that lifts it to greater heights.

Revolution for Nothing

Is a rampageous romp of brittle riffs and malevolent beats that are complimented by a growling and blistering vocal that is hard edged, constantly devouring in nature and stands its ground to perfection.

Where God feeds

A pure bludgeoning battle of steely riffs, pounding drums, brutal bass hooks and a vocal that reaps vengeance – the track broods with spiced aggression and laced with a remarkable melodic core.

Dance with the Devil

Is spiked with intrigue as well as 'thrashy' elements that are addictive and fast moving. The barbed riffs are compelling and weaved into a barrage of feisty beats that terrorize the ears.

You still walk

Is a track that can boast a heavy stride with a predatory nature and antagonistic qualities?  The heat is on as the exhausting rhythms plough uncontrollably through their paces.

Generation Reboot

The savagery continues with an even faster paced gallop into oblivion. The equally vicious rhythms blend naturally with heavy 'riffage' and steel vocal chords. A highly intimidating track that provides sheer enjoyment, exploding over the ears and melts them with absolute ease!

Overthrown

Nimble fingered and flexible the power is exuded through ripe riffs and caustic beats that gnaw at the senses in a way that ignites into an all-out brawl on the senses.

Afterlife

The title track has a pure black heart and at the center are bold strikes that swipe menacingly at the audial and punishes with vicious intent. Another heavy duty track that shows a diverse side to the bands talents as the track bursts into a crisp medley of strings before turning malevolent once more.

The End

Aptly titled, and is pure beauty personified as it takes a dream like trip to the abandoned corners of the mind before sucking you further into their alluring and cavernous world. The grooves are plentiful while the melodies are strong.

Summary:

A rhythmically potent offering is a good way to describe this album. The Scandinavians have the metal scene right where they want it! Dienamic have created this sound that is bludgeoning, while still being fashionably graceful and epic to grand proportions.

The vocals are unrefined and rough and sit perfectly well on the harvested rhythms and riffs the rest of the band have produced, it’s a great combination that works extremely well.

The band have created a two headed monster that melts the ears as well as caressing them. Predominantly it is a volatile album that spills its metal riffs over an outstanding landscape of brutish melodies, but the band are not perplexed about showing a calmer side to their nature and so within this twisting savagery comes hypnotic strings that leave one astounded by their purity.

So brace yourselves to be totally taken on a turbulent ride that is filled to the brim with creative quality and explosive thrash/groove elements!

Download the album to get the BONUS TRACKS. This album is slightly less political in nature. Many of the songs have obscure meanings, however there are some basic profanity filled rants to be heard. As far as GRINDCORE goes, some of the tracks are experimental with their sound.

And what seems like out of nowhere comes Stench of Humanity! Anarchy rules on this extreme mix of grind core and hard core – the malodour just bites into your flesh as soon as you listen.

As with most grind core albums the tracks last just a fragment of time before finishing and don’t ever give you time to fully engage before moving on to the next track, however, what you get here are quality tracks that are demanding and a gripping mix of vehemence with added elegance!

Balanced within the very core of the first track (Intro) Soulianis and Rahm is a great melodic swagger that whet’s the appetite before the next track Kymatica kicks in and bludgeons the senses. Moving on to Anton’s Key which hits the ground running, the guttural snares lure with instant appeal. The true statement of Everything Means Nothing then appears with two toned vocals of seething screams and low toned malevolence. GSMA hits with a fast frenzied attack on the audial before I fucking hate you with its biting lyrics and wielding madness comes to the forefront and is one very anthemic track that permeates evil vengeance. Horny For Your Death is a hard hitting splurge that lasts a mere 10 seconds so don’t blink or you will miss it! Brainwashed allows the listener a good 2 minutes to feast on its archaic structure and monumental chugs before unleashing a pure stringed arrangement that is beautifully melodic, before Perception Synthesis unleashes a dark malevolence that is inspiring as it is gripping. Religion Is Poison yet another true statement, this track is bludgeoning and faster than an express train as it throttles into a thickening smog that devours on impact. Suspension of Disbelief comes hurtling into view and takes no prisoners as the hearty riffs explode amid an air of repugnance that is captured by extremely low and gruff vocal redolence. Your Creation again don’t blink or you will miss the 18 seconds of sheer brutality that scrambles by in a jiffy! Blaspheme and Kill the Moon God again surges into a blackened mode of steely attitude and rips you a new one! This Living Hell is the longest track on this FREE album and stalks in a predatory manner until it decides to pick up the pace and run with it – the vocal entourage is deep, dark and as you would expect, but none the less delicious as it sucks the life from your bones amid a ghostly screaming malignancy that is provocative and exciting, and to think this has all been created by one man – Lerch is incredible!

(Outro) Serenity of Despair is an amazingly haunting track that elegantly moves through its paces with grace and ingenuity.

Summary:

This is a compelling album that sweeps through its tracks like a hot knife through butter but has been created with a lot of thought and experimentation. Although some of the tracks are over before they have a chance to get going within each of them is a creative enterprise that won’t go unnoticed with the grinders among us.

The diversity comes as the final track plays out where haunting strings and a more tempered vocal reaches out in a bid to flavour the proceedings with sheer calm from an unearthly storm that is felt within the rest of the album.

Lerch says he is a loser who couldn’t find band mates at the time of writing, but I disagree – anyone who can put together an album of this quality is no loser and sometimes it is easier to do things yourself as then you get the desired effects how you want them to sound, and Lerch has done this to perfection.
