Must remember
not to have the volume turned up to 11 when playing bands I haven’t heard
before – just had the skin melted off my ears from the inside as this track launched itself into the aural cavities like
an express train. Unleashing their barbed content of gnarly black metal of
atmospherics, it really eases you into the madness very nicely.

Intrusive and captivating it has an enveloping stance about it that
holds a lot of melodic jangled textures without losing its heaviness. Quite a
brewing ambient track of thickening rhythmic swathe. A very impressive track.

Time to bring
on the sludge, this track houses some nice menace of thickening and heavy
rhythms that protrude stealthily and evolves into some great grooves of slow
brooding ambiance.

atmospherics and intense rhythms of power drenched riffs move with an ambient force

Holds a nice

not sure of the classic rock bit... this is a lot more to it than just doom
though with destructive rhythms and unforgiving in metal riffage it holds just
the right amount of hypnotic savagery to saturate the senses.

tempo scathing vocals set to work and ravage whilst the quickening riffs

Just wait until
you here this – is what is stated in the bands description – yes it definitely
is what it says on the tin... Jazz with rabies – very interesting, but at least
they are all playing the same song. Rather a surly mix of rampant inventiveness
if ever I heard it – but definitely a good track for a Dapper album – if ever you
heard Ian and Richard on air... it is a bit like these guys – Jazz with rabies –
indeed! With lots of ear assault!

The sense of
humour is rife here as the band list as their ‘only’ interest – Holding Hands!
Awh sweet – although they do not come across as the hippy types on this
track... The bombardment continues as Intensive
Square ‘round’ you up for a fierce battering of gnarly intent as they stick
you into a round hole of square vocal agility and hypnotise you with their
perfect scornful blend of pure malice.

KBN is just a mental thing set up by the same people and featuring James Payne from the World of Shit
online zine.
Absolute manic squeals and a ferocious blast beat with intensely
insane riffage is what I got to say about this...
Killer Monkeys
from Space – I need a Rollie
This has a
magnetic depth of pure immense and devouring rhythms – pity I can’t find
anything about the Killer Monkeys from
Space as their track contains sheer and sensational chasms of impacting
metal.

Highly
sophisticated the shrill strings and the ambient flurry suddenly bursts into
scathing vocal and will blister as it rampages through the vast variation of
high energy riffs and blast beats – with indeed no breakdowns. The emotions run
rife throughout the track as it leaves behind it total devastation.

Again nothing really known about this band
A mesmerising
array of drumming can be heard from this track as it ignites and a clean punk
type of vocal ushers forth... its fiery madness and an engagingly good listen.

Gruff unpolished vocals rip through the track with the vengeance of
a rampaging bull on speed! The snarling riffs twists around some fiery
pummelling and is all you could ask for from a death metal band – this is
extremely intense and emotive.

peppering of Black Metal from Ruines ov
Abaddon – their gnarly evil and downright caustic blast beats encased in
sheer immense riffage is smothering and powerful as it hits the aural. It
reminds me of a sharp blade ripping through tender flesh and leaving a trail of
blood in its wake.

Two ferocious
menacing tracks from Storm the Walls the
first brings muscular strengths to
the proceedings. Disturbingly intense and rhythmic in quality and easily
satisfies the appetite with a feast of face melting riffs and immense vocal
range of the shrill variety.
The second
track however harnesses a gruff vocal as well as the immense shrill scream and
is again highly intense and invigorating.

Punishing Nu

After seeing these
guys live at the Southport Metal Festival I understand why their brand of metal
is called ‘Punishing Nu School Metal’ - These guys devour with malice. Vocally
ravishing and holding a more than capable stance of extreme vibrancy they will
indeed punish the aural with an impressive style of melodic ravenous metal.

Malevolence is
not in short supply on this album as ‘Thrown
to the Dogs’ come into the spotlight – brandishing a guttural vocal and a ton
of grazing riffs and fiery raucous blast beats – this is toxic energy all the
way from Croatia.

Legend Metal
To finish this
extravaganza of Dapperness a female fronted band called Unicorn Death. And as the band say on their Facebook page: Inspired
by symphonic metal, the music isn't really what you'd expect coming from the
name. But we thoroughly enjoy confusing the shit outta people lacking a sense
of humour! For me it holds a good depth
of sophistication and offers a welcome melodic energy housed in a very
impressive swathe of Symphonic beauty.
To Sum up:
You can make
your night’s explode every night, not just on Thursdays when it virtually hits
overload once the madness of Ian Phillips
and Richard Fenwick takes to the
airwaves, but by just buying this immense album (for a measly fiver) you can help
to keep this insane duo doing what they do best and getting out to the masses,
their filthy and extreme metal to the hungry hoards, whilst listening to some
very nice young men – oh ok then extremely insane metal heads strut their
stuff... what’s not to like??
As you may or
may not know Dapper FM is struggling
to keep on the air – like so many stations, and to try and alleviate their problems
have put together their ideas with the help of some of the most amazing bands
and come up with this intense array of sheer malevolence, in the hope that
people out there will support the metal scene and of course keep them plugging
away on the Welsh airwaves for Dapper FM.
Ian Phillips and Richard Fenwick
If you have
ever heard Phyllis and Fenners on TNR (Thursday
Night Rocks) you will know they take no prisoners, and your earlobes will
obviously have taken a bashing - but it’s always utter madness when those two
guys get together and shovel loads of ferocity our way – they are great at what
they do and those accents are to die for!
So please –
help these guys out and buy this extravaganza of molten metal – there is a lot
of diversity contained within its 32 tracks of sheer and utter brutality and by
doing so – you can rest easy knowing that Ian
Phillips and Richard Fenwick can,
once more, take to the Welsh air waves and bring metal to a horde of rampant
metal heads.
A special
mention goes out to Chunky’s Choice Cuts
as he plays a lot of the metal bands as well. Not the furious stuff, but he's a
cool guy who supports the underground music of all genres. Kudos to Chunky!!
Support is the
name of the game here – so if you are a true metal-head,and I believe there
are still some of you out there, then please purchase this album and let’s keep
the metal madness going. The guys seem
to be adding more tracks to this metal feast of brooding magnificence as I type
– but 32 tracks of reviewing is a lot to get your ears around – so why not give
it a listen and check it out for yourself?
