Fatal Prophecy
4 track EP Review
Another thrash band emerges onto the scene in the shape of FATAL PROPHECY. A 4 piece band hailing from La Puente, for anyone not knowing where this is, it is in Los Angeles County, California. With a lot of support from Mexican fans!
The cover for this EP simply entitled ‘Fatal Prophecy’ is just the bands logo in black on a white background, and it is eye catching, but it’s what is inside that counts! And by all accounts these four tracks give you everything you could want from a thrash band and more!
Fatal Prophecy:
That awesome thrashing drum beat and ravaging guitar together with some nasty evil sounding vocals just compel the listener to listen further. It is a very busy track with astounding guitar too! Nice melodic feel that never loses its intensity! This track has a great build up that leads into more fast and ferocious guitar licks, with a constant hammering of the drums.
Deprived of Life:
Starts slowly, but don’t be put off by this, as it has a nice build-up to more evil and nasty vocals. This track has a hypnotic beat. The chugging guitar just constantly present throughout the track goes a long way to whetting the appetite! That evil still lurking around the corner accompanied by some just as nasty guitar, make this awesome listening. Abrupt ending!
Shrapnel:
Some nice growls in this track, along with another awesome drum beat, that quickly explodes into a very melodic guitar sound, which chugs merrily on its way! The vocals although clean(ish) still have that dark edge and sound quite menacing, continuing until the track finishes with a rather nice fade out of drums.
Face your Death:
Another face melting track from Fatal Prophecy. More ‘thrashy’ guitar and a drum beat that compels you to move your head! Along with some pounding bass bring this track together like a perfectly baked cake! The ingredients are definitely the best! Ryan’s evil vocal chords pushing the boundaries chant out the lyrics in short bursts, to a very fast and ‘thrashy’ guitar make this an awesome track and my favourite from the EP. It lacks nothing! A catchy beat, evil growling vocals, a solid Bass line, and amazing guitar riffs! The riffs are awe inspiring on this track! Watch out for Fatal Prophecy as I think it is a name that could well be spread far and wide with the right backing!
