Horrorcaused are a six piece heavy thrash band from Liverpool that alone is such to cause the eye brows to raise, but seeing them LIVE… in their war paint and memorable uniforms beggars’ belief as they took Head of Steam by storm.
Not really knowing what to expect by the band, but trust me when I say nothing is quite as it seems......
As the name would suggest you just know something is afoot and you would be right to think that as the band took the stage, complete with smoke screen, two vocalists Dave and Adolf as he is affectionately known swing into action. Six of the most evil looking musicians performed five tracks each one bringing together the unique element of their heavy (and I mean heavy) thrash sound.
Adolf complete in suit and covered in fake blood looked as if he had just escaped the lunatic asylum whilst Dave being described as a “Nazi zombie shot in the throat” did indeed exuberate noises that wouldn’t sound out of place in a death-camp!
Dibbit the band’s skinsman looked in comparison quite normal (if that is the word) stopped to put on some fancy shades and then went on to rip everything apart with just his drum sticks!
Bassist John looked as evil as sin with blackened eyes and brown jacket complete with stripes looked as if he had risen from the dead that morning, brought an even more evil sounding kick to the bass.
Petal known as such because apparently he has flowers growing from every orifice! A huge bare chested bald guy with a nose piercing that looks just as menacing off stage as on abused his guitar to an excited crowd quite unsure of what was going to materialize as the band got underway with a track entitled Ghouls and Ghosts.
Phily the dead ginger thrashed his guitar with extreme aggression and power infused savagery.
Adolf awkwardly moved around the stage with an almost aloof expression as if he was indeed somewhere else, until he started screaming then all hell broke loose! At one point he jumped onto a nearby table and then just stood there as all around him broke into a frenzy of sound… the fact he was suited and booted just made it more extreme and exciting for the crowd.
Each song was not just delivered but launched at the crowd in the most evil of ways and encouraged by all around them.
Never seen bands brutalize a place as much as these guys. My favourite tracks have to be Ghouls and Ghosts because of that great catchy riff and Zombie Killer complete with thunderous riffs and power crazed drumming! Awesome tracks!
If you like extreme aggression, fake blood and more power than a nuclear bomb then go and see Horrorcaused you will not be disappointed with their brand of tongue in cheek horror infused thrash metal.
Just don’t be too scared when you see ‘em in the flesh!!!!!
