Genre: Bastardized Grind core
Biography:
“Fuck the Facts Started out as a recording
project in the late 90’s, but it wasn’t until 2001 that the work ethic produced
a slew of underground releases and drove Fuck
The Facts towards full band status and into the live arena.
From
2006-2011 Fuck the Facts released
three albums via underground powerhouse label, Relapse Records. Upon the
completion of their contract, the quintet decided it was time to put the
finishing touches on the proverbial full-circle, returning to the world of
fierce independence and creative control. Their most recent releases were
produced entirely at their own studio, self-released, and shows ‘Fuck the Facts’ efforts as an entity
continuing to grow musically and personally while developing a deeper
understanding of what significance their art holds for them. As one of the longest running and most
recognizable names in Canadian Grind core, FUCK
THE FACTS continue to deliver their brand of “Bastardized Grind core” with
no end in sight!”
~~~~~~
Well
if it is plenty of noise you want then Fuck
the Facts are probably a good choice to listen to and if you love grind
core then Fuck the Facts are most
definitely a good choice to listen to! Either way Fuck the Facts are without
a doubt are a good choice to listen to full stop!
The
squalid throaty servings from Mel and Marc can hardly be told apart, as it has
been known for women to tackle this daunting task of grind core before and it
has always amazed me just how anyone male or female can carry on screaming,
grunting, growling in such a manner without a) choking or b) coughing – just
singing along to a grind core track can be difficult – you try it!!
However,
Fuck the Facts have had plenty of
time to settle into their gigantic grind core stride, and amassed 66.726 fans
along the way.
Their
name would suggest that I not bother with the facts and maybe start thinking
about the music!
OK!
Their music has varying intensities of style such as punk, obviously grind
core, hard core, d-beat, Death, progressive, electronica and experimental
attached to it, which is highly refreshing and exciting to hear.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
“It
is certainly a no nonsense album and gets down to the ‘nitty gritty’
instantaneously on hitting play and there is no respite from the gorging riffs
and monstrous beats that will undoubtedly batter the ears beyond belief, but they
do it with a no nonsense air of ‘fuck you!”
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The
shards of metal antagonise, bastardise and lambaste with plenty of relish. The
experimental thrashings create an ambient hue that lurks menacingly while the
vocals simple gouge like a pneumatic drill through concrete and catapult the
cowering listener into submission.
Desire will Rot it has to
be said, is one album that will actually spread tiny splinters of metal in the
form of highly charged frequencies that inconspicuously embed themselves into
the skin and burn caustically on listening as with each bellowing scream the
frequencies respond by moving deeper into your flesh – so this could be one of
the most painful but pleasurable listens ever!
The
band indeed do ‘a number’ on your audial canal and leave it more than battered
and bruised as the assault continues to pulverise until the final note. The
limbs of the tracks are so deep and infectious they should come with a health
warning, and just like that X rated Horror Movie that states ‘Intimidatingly
creepy’ People will make the effort to go all out to see it and I feel the same
must happen for this band – although not so easy for people on the opposite
side of the world, however, that is what makes the internet so good, and brings
together bands of all nations and creed.
If
you love having your ears pulled apart and your brain assassinated then look no
further than ‘Fuck the Facts’ this
band you desire and rot your mind it will!
Just
how did they get it right on all fronts – listen and find out!!!
