UKEM
Disciples of Extremity Vol 3
19 Track Death/Black Metal Compilation Album
UKEM-CD-015
Released March 2013
http://www.ukemrecords.co.uk
Featuring 19 of the most gruesome offerings of death/black/thrash/gore
grind metal, from one of the most extreme labels on earth, from every angle of
the UK – Is Disciples of Extremity Volume
3.
Setting myself the impossible task of unveiling in words every
single track listed on the album in comprehensive format, from nineteen irresistible
bands (although two have since disbanded) right to the aural cortex.
Fires of Tartarus – Adsum
https://www.facebook.com/Firesoftartarus
Brutal Old School Melodic
Death Metal from the UK.
Brewing up an intense storm of harsh growling vocal and formidable
riffs the immensity plays out into an unmerciful and predatory chasm of sheer
terror. Still melodic but portrayed in the most sadistic way possible and
equally as evil.
Bonesaw – Your Murder
https://www.facebook.com/bonesawuk
Death Metal - Aberdeen
Like taking a razor blade and running it roughly over the skin – the
result is a lot of blood! The production is not as crisp as it could be, but
putting that aside it’s fierce and fiery and typical death metal.
Necrogrinder – Creepy Crawley
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Necrogrinder
Death/Grind - Sheffield
That gruesome snarling is just what the doctor ordered! Plundering
deep into the heart it’s cruel and damming. Disorientating at very best, as the
climbing riffs fiercely capture a slice or two of caustic intrigue.
Rat Faced Bastard – Dungeon of Misery
Grindcore/Death Metal – Newcastle upon Tyne
Sadly now split, Rat Faced
Bastard, again another grind core band reap havoc that only these bands
know how. This is a masterful encounter of savagery and unruly guitar riffs.
Dissectrophy – Sands of Time
https://www.facebook.com/dissectrophy
Death Metal -
Lancashire
Absolutely superb melodic embraces of deadly smouldering caustic malevolence
that possesses fantastic guitar rhythms and an equally unmerciful vocal that
demands your full on attention.
Morgue Orgy – The Modern Prometheus
https://www.facebook.com/birminghammetal
Melodic Death Metal -
Birmingham
Virulent energy protrudes at an alarming rate through the speaker
units with ear igniting consequence. Sadly the clean vocal tends to spoil this
track rather and would have been a lot more thought inspiring with just the
harsh growling, but the music surpasses the boundaries of excellence.
Engraved Disillusion – As Life Fades
https://www.facebook.com/engraved.disillusion
Heavy Metal – Taunton,
Somerset
Gruelling thunderous drum beats work overtime here along with an
infectious vocal fuelled full of spite. It is a distinct melodic ride of riffs
that also offers some respite from the sounds associated with death metal but
just long enough to appreciate the melodic overtones until it returns to
badassery once again.
Nefarious Dusk – Hellfire
https://www.facebook.com/nduk666
Black Metal - Cumbria
Now for some black metal – immediately the vocal climbs in pitch to
reveal that shrill tone of morbid veracity. A short lived track but none the
less brutal in every sense of the word.
Nerrus Kor – Frozen in Fear
https://www.facebook.com/nerruskor
Death Metal with a
blackened twist – Perth, Scotland
Sadly, again another band bites the dust. Sinister goings on, evil sounds, a
deadly drum beat and dual vocals equally hateful. High pitched shrillness and
harsh scathing low growling, sparks interest immediately – Lucifer has risen
and his favourite track must be this one! The further in you go the more you
enjoy. The consistency of brutal hammering is just mind blowing.
Prometheus Rising – Inciting
Hatred from upon the Papal Throne
https://www.facebook.com/prometheusrisingmetal
Black Metal - Pontypool
The swathe and swagger of melodic overtones with prominent cymbals
is just intriguing. The typical high pitched scrawling vocal twists and turns
into a pure emotive passion as the track throws out some amazingly contagious
rhythms that just capture the senses and take you on an epic journey of
suffocating and crippling riffs.
Foetal Juice – Colostomy
Baguette
https://www.facebook.com/FoetalJuice
Brutal Death Metal - Manchester
Back to ‘in your face’ brutal death metal, scathing and raw. Vocally
superb as it lunges into the aural cavity and makes its home there. Raucous grazing,
crushing rhythms and an inferno of sheer rabid caustic vibes. The title alone
paints a devious picture and together it all adds up to one immense listen.
Impaled Existence – If Error
Were True
https://www.facebook.com/impaledexistence
Black Metal – North
Wales
Dark and evil this builds to an extreme pleasure almost instantaneously.
Delivered in brutal style with constant harshness and mountainous symphonic
brooding – let the salivating commence. I may need to repeat this track as I
have an urgency to further satisfy my hunger lust.
Pravus – The Terminus
Cosmographia Pt 1: Cosmic Alignment
https://www.facebook.com/pravusofficial
Angry Progressive
Metal - Guildford
Slow and meandering this track possesses a devilish mystique of
harsh vocal and an epic backdrop of pure evil that oozes from its musical gait.
The music is so alive it takes on a predatory stance and will stalk you – there
is nowhere to hide as the enthralling shards of mesmerising metal crushes and
turns you to dust!
Vindicator – the Crucified
Priest
https://www.facebook.com/vindicatormetal
Bastards of noise
aggression - Leeds
Starts off slow and lulls the listener into a false sense of
security as it then unleashes the fastest entourage possible. Feasting on the
aural – there is no trusting Vindicator
to remain at a slow pace. The muscular rhythms build and reach breaking point
very easily. Tempos flair, and great excitement is had as it just explodes into
a pustular feast of psychotic malevolence.
Primative Graven Image –
Slave to the Mannequin
https://www.facebook.com/primitivegravenimage
Black Metal from
Chesham
Stretching into a festering chasm of bleak and black madness this
epic journey takes on a twist of energetic and ends with a thrilling
conclusion. Unpredictable but seductive charm oozes seamlessly through its
blackened veins and works perfectly well tantalising the senses into
submission. Swaggering melodies simply ignite into a festering frenzy – superb track!
Basement Torture Killings –
Tapestry of Putrid Genitalia
https://www.facebook.com/Basementtorturekillings
Gore Obsessed, Serial
Killer Worshipin, Old School Death Fucking Metal from London
You know what you are in for here, don’t you? Gore infested
murderous rhythms and an equally gory vocal to accompany it. Snarling with
brutality and bruising with evil intent to not only capture but destroy its
victims with rapacious riffs that bury deep into any blackened heart and turn
it into a cavernous wound of flesh eating maggots.
Necroriser – Suicide
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Necroriser
Thrash/Death crossover from London
Thrashed to death! The atmosphere has dramatically changed into a
rampaging swathe of emotive and compelling savagery. It is a tirade of madness
that entices with turbulent rhythms that will literally sweep you aside into a
flourishing sonic burst of aural musing.
Gloomlurker – The Bungalow
of Horrors
https://www.facebook.com/Gloomlurker
Melodic Death/Thrash -
Lincolnshire
The name suggests doom, the music suggests different – no matter
this is powerful stuff. Intense and intriguing with a powerful and mesmerising
quality of disorientating twists. Imposing their threat with lures of constant
rich flavours of potent savagery.
Nihilism Incarnate – Eat
Shit & Die
https://www.facebook.com/NihilismIncarnateUK
Progressive Death Metal - Preston
A serious sample plays out and is met with the words ‘fuck off’ giving
it a sense of humour. However the music is anything but tongue in cheek. Its
ravenous hunger holds a provocative bite that continually burns and is coated
with a lingering spite.
To Sum Up:
This album is more than just a mere play and listen album. It is an
unscrupulous reign of terror on the aural and constantly feeds on the soul,
with more than you could ever wish for. This album is one of brutal merging and
intense subsonic attack.
It changes direction so many times it will leave you dizzy from the
fallout - but will also leave you wanting more when the album long finishes.
Everyone will have their favourites or a favourite track (I have
many on this album) that you just have the urge to replay over and over again and delight in
its dark and unmerciful savagery, still finding more to feast upon.
It’s truly an immense listen – if you like your music extreme,
brutal and scathingly raw then this is one album you have to buy – without a
doubt your ears will be ringing and your blood will literally bubble under your
quivering eroding skin. Enjoy!
10/10
