words:
New Electronic
beats and bass. Aspects of Drum 'n' Bass, Dub step, Psytrance and Dark Ambient
music. I have always loved electronic music and for the past few years I have
been building up my home studio and writing music every day! I have also been
in a few electronic metal bands and have been on two tours with Goacore. Since then I have been solely
working on my solo project Ba55pzn,
and that is the music you hear today. Clashes of drum 'n' bass beats mixed with
trance overtones with drops of dub step and ambient atmospheres! I love
experimenting with music and developing new and interesting sounds! I have now finished writing my first solo E.P
entitled “Tidal”

I first heard Goacore on the 13.1.2011 at the
Zanzibar and loved the sound the band had carved for themselves, then with Jen
Catterall on vocals. Jen left shortly after to form her own take on things and
the rest of the band went their separate ways, although girlfriend of Joe –
Steph Starkey has also embarked on a solo project called “Black Powder Eyes” -
whilst Joe decided to etch out a place of his own and done an amazing job on
this two track E.P
The
attention seeking “Fall Down” just rips the ears from your skull and goes on a
mad rampage in a sound scape of pure genius! Bubbling synth fuses together with
deep resonating powerful rhythms and there is no let up as it continually pumps
ferociously and likely to give you a seizure! It is the proverbial mad wasp
injecting its sting into the heart of a primal chasm! This thing blisters to the
extreme and holds addictive catchiness throughout its reign of terror on the
aural.
Whilst the energetic and spirited tones of “Launching Me” (The first track ever recorded by Ba55PZN) rumbles and smacks with deep raw emotion and highlights a compelling skill that is rich in inspirational notes, bonding immense essences together in a challenging and provocative fusion of demanding rhythms that linger long after the track has finished playing.
To Sum up:
You can safely
say here that Joe Hunt has got what
it takes to go all the way and on his adventurous journey is likely to produce
some more of the finest tracks you will hear. All the elements are there from
rapturous dance rhythms to sharp sensational saturated beats - it is all here in
abundance. It certainly will be
interesting to see what Joe/Ba55PZN
comes up with next – hopefully an album worth the next time round as two tracks
just do not even come close to whetting the appetite - but it is a good start!
